Rivers and walking safaris
Untamed wilderness. Unhurried adventure.
Zambia offers a quieter, more intimate side of Southern Africa. From the mist and majesty of Victoria Falls to the wild rivers and remote landscapes of South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and Kafue.
Here, the safari is beautifully unhurried. Walk through the wilderness with an expert guide, drift along the Zambezi by boat or canoe, and return to intimate camps where the sounds of the bush become part of the experience.
Zambia is for those who want to go deeper, travel slowly and experience Africa in its most natural form.
Where to go
The Zambian side of the Falls, with the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and riverside lodges on the Zambezi.
The Luangwa Valley, known for walking safaris and leopard.
Canoeing, boat safaris and walks along the river, opposite Mana Pools.
Zambia’s largest national park, with the open Busanga Plains in the north.
Our approach
Three nights is the minimum we recommend anywhere. It takes a day to arrive, a day to settle, and only then does the bush start to show itself. In Zambia we typically pair two or three camps chosen for contrast, not for ticking regions off a map.
