Water and wilderness
Botswana is safari at its most exclusive: vast private concessions, small camps, and the Okavango Delta, a wetland of channels and islands where you travel by mokoro as often as by vehicle.
Low-volume, high-value tourism is national policy, and it shows. A camp of eight tents may have a concession the size of a small country to itself, with walking, night drives and off-road driving all permitted.
We combine a water camp in the Delta with a dry-land camp in the Moremi or Linyanti, then, when it suits the journey, fly on to Victoria Falls for a final two nights at the edge of the Zambezi.
Where to go
Mokoro trails, island walks and lion swimming between channels.
Wild dog, leopard and the best of the Delta’s dry-land game.
Elephant in their thousands along the river in the dry season.
Salt pans, meerkats and quad biking under a sky with no edges.
Our approach
Three nights is the minimum we recommend anywhere. It takes a day to arrive, a day to settle, and only then does the bush start to show itself. In Botswana we typically pair two or three camps chosen for contrast, not for ticking regions off a map.
