More than just a journey…

The Safari and Soul way

We are a small, independent luxury tour operator. We design a limited number of private safaris each year, and we design every one of them as if it were our own.

Who we are

Safari people first, travel company second

Safari and Soul Journeys began with a simple frustration: too many safaris are sold from a spreadsheet by people who have never slept in the camps they recommend. We wanted to build the opposite. A company where every itinerary is designed by someone who has driven the transfers, walked the trails and sat around the fire with the guides.

So that is what we do. We travel constantly, we keep our list of partners short, and we say no to journeys we cannot do properly.

Our name is a promise. Safari is the wilderness, the wildlife, the light. Soul is everything that makes it matter: the people, the culture, the quiet, and the way you feel when you come home.

What we stand for

Four words we design by

  • Exclusive

Private guides, owner-run lodges and camps chosen for their quiet, not their fame.

  • Authentic

Real wilderness, real communities. We travel every route ourselves before we recommend it.

  • Sustainable

Partners who protect the land and pay the people who live beside it.

  • Personalised

One journey, designed around you, by a single dedicated travel designer from first call to homecoming.

How we travel

Light on the land, generous to its people

We work only with camps and lodges that can show us how they protect the land they sit on and how they pay the communities around them. Where a community-owned conservancy exists, we use it. Where a guide is local, we ask for them by name.

None of this makes a safari less luxurious. In our experience it makes it more so. The best guides, the quietest camps and the most honest welcomes are almost always found where tourism gives more than it takes.

  • Owner-run camps with a stake in the land
  • Community conservancies and local guides
  • Small groups, private vehicles, minimal footprint
  • Carbon-conscious routing and fewer flights where the drive is worth it
